The first season of the Women’s Premier League kicked off on Saturday, March 4, 2023, for cricket enthusiasts in India. The opening match of the tournament is between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants in DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai. As announced by the BCCI, all of the WPL’s inaugural season matches will be played at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium and Brabourne CCI Stadium.
Five teams will compete for the elusive championship in India’s long-awaited Women’s T20 League. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced a mascot (Shakti), a couple of anthems, and an opening ceremony to ensure that the inaugural WPL gets off to the best possible start.

The DY Patil Stadium and Brabourne Stadium in Bombay will serve as venues for all 22 games of the Women’s Premier League. There will be 20 league matches between the five WPL teams.
