The system will choose five random numbers ranging from 1 to 70 for the white balls and one random number ranging from 1 to 25 for the Mega Ball.
The official Mega Millions website produces these choices. A fresh set of numbers is randomly selected after each number generation. About Mega Millions Jackpot
As the Big Game, Mega Millions started on August 31, 1996. Six states participated in the first drawing, which was held on September 6, 1996: Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Virginia. A Tuesday drawing was added in February 1998 after the game experienced brisk growth in 1997. In January 1999, players received a wider range of numbers and a “cash payout” option.
In May 2002, the multistate game was given the new name “Mega Millions,” and the game matrix and prize payouts were altered to increase player excitement.
A historic cross-selling agreement between Mega Millions and Powerball® went into effect on January 31, 2010, and as a result, 23 additional state lotteries joined Mega Millions. Since then, additional lotteries have joined, bringing the total number of jurisdictions where Mega Millions is played to 47: 45 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
How To Play the Game?

When you purchase a Mega Millions ticket, you simply need to select six numbers from two different pools of numbers. You must select five numbers between 1 and 70 for the white balls and one number between 1 and 25 for the golden Mega Ball. If you match all six winning numbers in a drawing, you could take home the jackpot. For those who might find it challenging to select a set of numbers, there is an option to select Easy Pick or Quick Pick, which will generate the numbers for your ticket at random.
Additionally, you can add a Megaplier for $1 to take your prize to the next level. Each ticket costs $2, but you can add the Megaplier for an additional $1, increasing your chances of winning up to five times the initial prize (except for the jackpot). Your non-jackpot winnings could be multiplied by a factor of 2, 3, 4, or 5 if you make this decision. The Megaplier is drawn on Tuesday and Friday nights before the Mega Millions drawings. A total of 15 balls are in the pool, and five of them have the markings 2X, 6X, 3X, 4X, and 5X. Before each drawing, the starting jackpot will be disclosed and will change based on ticket sales.
