BGMI players have reported getting an error message reading “Server authentication error. Login Failed” since the morning of August 30, 2023, when attempting to sign in to their account. The majority of players are unable to play the game due to technical difficulties. The error is applicable regardless of platform, and the game has been rendered unavailable to players for some time. Server maintenance could be the possible reason for this.
The problem occurred after the game’s three-month trial period in India ended. The BGMI returned to India in May 2023 after being suspended by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in July 2022 due to security and data concerns. BGMI has successfully completed the three-month trial period. As a result, there’s a good chance that the issue was caused by server maintenance. Players can either wait for the server to be maintained or try the procedures listed below to resolve the issue.
When Is It Going to Be Resolved?
Krafton has acknowledged the error. It acknowledged this with a notice on its official website. They will also contact the players once the problem has been resolved. Krafton stated in a post titled, Notice on Login Failure, that it has identified players who are still experiencing login failures from 11:45 a.m. IST (GMT +5:30) on the error message and is investigating the issue. The post stated:
“Dear BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA fans, we have identified an issue where players are experiencing login failure from 11:45 am, 30/8, with an error message showing “Server authentication error. Login failed”. We are currently investigating this issue, and we will get back to you as soon as it gets resolved.”
Given that servers were offline earlier today for optimization, many players speculated that the problem was caused by maintenance. The official Discord channel administrator, on the other hand, was quick to dispel this notion. They also stated that this was a known issue that was being investigated.
Last week, some players also received an in-game message informing them of scheduled server maintenance. So there’s no need to be concerned about the game being banned again. Also, according to internal sources, BGMI servers will be down for maintenance on August 30 from 2:30 to 3:30 IST. Players should wait for this maintenance period to end before attempting any fixes.
Ways To Fix BGMI Server Authentication Error Login Failed Error
While waiting for an official update from Krafton is the safest bet, if you’re eager to return to the battlefield, try the following steps:
- Restart the Game – Players can try to restart the game, which may resolve the issue.
- Repair the Game – Players can repair the game by using the Repair option available in BGMI.
- Check Your Internet Connection – A strong and stable internet connection is necessary for logging in to BGMI. So, check your internet connection.
- Clear Cache – Players can attempt to log in to the game after clearing the game cache.
- Contact Customer Support –If you have exhausted all other options and are still unable to proceed, please reach out to the support team for BGMI.
If the problem persists, your only option is to wait for the developers to resolve it. Because there is no time frame for the fix, it could take a few hours to resolve.
