The filming of the much-awaited sequel to last year’s blockbuster, ‘RRR’, starring Ram Charan and NTR Jr. has begun. Filmmaker and Director SS Rajamouli has confirmed that he is working on creating a new installment of his “RRR” franchise.
The renowned director revealed at a Chicago event that his father is indeed crafting a sequel to his hugely successful action film RRR. According to Rajamouli, “My father is a story writer for all my films. We discussed a bit about RRR 2 and he’s working on the story.”
The director further added that the most thrilling aspect of RRR 2 would be working with Jr. NTR and Ram Charan. However, he did not disclose the cast or the scheduled release date, but his father Virendra Prasad will pen the script.
RRR2 Release Date
The renowned director of Tollywood, S.S. Rajamouli, is all set to bring us the sequel to his magnum opus RRR, starring NTR Jr. and Ram Charan. The film Pan India became the biggest blockbuster of all time by setting and breaking several box office records.
The RRR fever spread outside of India as well, with many well-known international actors and directors praising the movie and Rajamouli’s direction.
The theatrical debut of RRR was initially set for July 30, 2020, but it was repeatedly delayed because of production issues and the COVID pandemic. Finally, RRR hit the theatres on March 25, 2022.
The sequel is currently in its initial stages of development, and fans can anticipate its release early the next year. There isn’t any official confirmation of this, though. The wait for fans may extend until 2025.
RRR 2 Star Cast
RRR is a Telugu-language period action-drama film produced by D. V. V. Danayya of DVV Entertainment. Along with Telugu, dubbed versions of the film also appeared in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, and Alia Bhatt all play significant roles in the film.
The cast of RRR 2 has not been officially confirmed. Fans can, however, undoubtedly see Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the lead roles. There are still more supporting actors to be revealed.
RRR 2 Story Plot
RRR is a pre-independence era drama. The fictional story revolves around the lives of two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju, played by Ram Charan, and Komaram Bheem, played by Jr. NTR, who fought against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad respectively.
The movie, which had an estimated 550 crore rupee budget, made over 1000 crores at the global box office in just 16 days. Only four Indian films, namely, Baahubali 2, Dangal, RRR, and KGF 2 have grossed over 1000 crores worldwide.
