Dhanvantariji is considered to be the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Dhanteras is also celebrated as the festival of his appearance.

The process of celebrating the festival of Diwali starts from the day of Dhanteras. On the day of Dhanteras, you must buy coriander seeds and bring them to your home. According to the calculations of the Panchang, the auspicious time for buying gold and other items on Dhanteras will start from 12:35 in the afternoon and will continue till 6:40 in the morning on November 11, the next day.
If you miss buying during that time, you can still buy between 06:40 am to 1:57 pm on November 11.
Dhanteras Ritual Or Pooja Vidhi
- On the day of Dhanteras, in the auspicious time in the evening, install the idols of Lord Ganesha, Kuber and Dhanvantari Dev towards the north.
- Along with these, a statue of Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, should also be installed.
- After this, light the lamp and start worshipping properly.
- Now apply tilak to all the gods. Then offer them flowers, fruits etc.
- Offer white sweets to Lord Kuber and also offer yellow sweets to Lord Dhanvantari.
- During the worship, it is customary to chant the mantra ‘Om Hreem Kuberaya Namah’.
- To seek the blessings of Lord Dhanvantari, it is recommended to recite the Dhanvantari Stotra.
