Early Life.

During his childhood, Mr. Pandey has a constrained financial background. To support the family’s financial condition, he gave private tuition to students of various classes, from mid-section to higher secondary. 

When he was in third grade, his father sold a piece of their home to help pay bills. Later, the entire house was sold. Then he and his family moved into a rented flat in a small settlement. He began tutoring when he was in class 6, traveling 5 miles on a bicycle each day to earn Rs. 200 for his family.

He began paying tuition for class 5 pupils while he was in class 8, and by the time he was in class 11, he was instructing class 9 children at the Achievers Academy in his neighborhood.

He first became interested in acting while he was in class 10. once took part in several plays.

Alakh Pandey finished his elementary education at the Bishop Johnson School.  He attended the Harcourt Butler Technical Institute (HBTI), in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, to study Mechanical engineering. Due to his lack of interest in the teaching style of his faculties at college, he left college in his fourth year.

His father is Mr. Satish Pandey, who was a private contractor. His mother is Mrs. Rajat Pandey, who was a teacher at Vishnu Bhagwan Public School, Uttar Pradesh. He has a sister, Aditi Pandey, who works in a software company.  

Career: His YouTube channel’s motivation.

Alakh began providing tutoring to a school in Allahabad while he was a student in Class 11. He used to get paid INR 5000 per month there. He realized after working there for a few years that the student’s access to offline lectures was limited, and this realization ultimately inspired him to launch his YouTube channel. This channel was created to give students access to free online lessons. He started streaming lectures on physics to his channel, which he titled “Physics Wallah-Alakh Pandey.”

Initially, his videos didn’t receive many views. Hence, he decided to improve the quality of the content of his lectures, for which he bought study materials from Kota, Rajasthan, and did an extensive study to make his lectures. Eventually, his videos started garnering a decent amount of organic views. Till December last year, his channel accounted to have 9.25 Million subscribers.

About his efforts, i.e., his channel, and app.

In the year 2018, he launched an app named Physics Wallah. The Physics Wallah(PW) app attempts to reach kids who live in rural regions. 90% of the information on the app is free to read. For the students’ preparation, there are live classrooms, lecture-by-lecture notes, video assignments, video lectures, and exam series. A group of educators is assisting Physics Wallah. Additionally, there are free seminars. PW has locations in several cities, including Patna, Pune, Lucknow, New Delhi, Varanasi, etc.

The kids in the 10th and 12th grades have scribbled notes. Additionally, for the other courses that PW provides, such as JEE NEET, UPSC, etc. The program is readily available for download from Google Play, allowing students to learn and conquer their physics phobia. It has offered selections for several aspirants in the JEE and NEET. Apart from the science stream, he also ventured into other domains like MBA Wallah, GATE Wallah, and Teaching wallah.

One can imagine the effectiveness of his content that just within four days of launching the app, more than 35,000 students enrolled in his courses. He also has a web series under his recognition named ‘Physics Wallah’ where his character was played by actor Shreedhar Dubey.

He achieved a milestone last year when his start-up Physics Wallah crossed a benchmark and entered into the Unicorn list of India, becoming the 101st Unicorn of the proud nation.
