No Objection Certificate for Films/Ad Films in which performing animals are used - Reg.
Animal Welfare Board of India screens application under Performing Animals Rules of Films / Ad Films for issuing No Objection Certificate for the films / ad films, in which performing animals are used in two stages.
Animal Welfare Board of India does not entertain brokers/agents and request the producers to apply directly to this office with all required documents. Incomplete applications will not be entertained and process will be delayed. No direct NOC will be given by AWBI w.e.f. 1-4-2007.
The procedure is as follows:
Stage 1 - Pre-shooting permission :–
The applicant should apply in the prescribed format (please see website www.awbi.org) giving details about storyline, sequences where animals will be used alongwith Demand Draft for Rs. 500/- in favour of Animal Welfare Board of India payable at Chennai. The applicant need to give complete justification for using animals, relevance of using animal and also submit fitness certificate Part A alongwith ownership certificate and obtain pre-shoot permission.
Stage 2 - No Objection Certificate :–
After obtaining the pre-shoot permission, stick to the conditions/guidelines to the synopsis submitted and complete the shooting with animals and send AWBI 2 CD’s containing animal sequences along with Fitness certificate Part B and a letter from the applicant.
